Vienna days

Well, this is my 'home' for a couple of months... pretty cool place I could say, but also hard to keep clean. I'm in Vienna doing a residence at the MQ which I'm really happy about. I hope it all goes well :)

Here is a blog which Stefan Tiron (who is also in residence at MQ) and I are keeping.

Errorism photos 1

Here are some pictures from today. The show went on great with a few errors which don't really matter as it was all about errorism. The target on the petrol station was a bit deranged by the wind so I'm posting a picture of how it looked yesterday when we installed it. All the other pieces came together fine and I'm really happy about it all. Hopefully in a few days we'll have a proper text to go with these pictures but anyway...
You could see the petrol station from the window of the gallery.
The grill is a cross between a traditional Romanian grill and a candle holder shade (thingie) as you find in orthodox churces. Far back, behind the grill you can spot Casa Poporului next to which a huge cathedral will be built.
The balloons were dangerous and so was the candyfloss. It was a beautiful sunday.

# 1
VLAD NANCA, ERRORISM
duminica 2.10.2005, ora 13.00

Errorism

"Errorism" is the title of my show which will take place in this misterious place on Sunday 2 October at 13.00. It's not actually that misterious, it is the gallery of Dorin Stefan's studio. Dorin is trying to establish an experimental gallery as part of the studio and he's doing that with the help of curators Florin Tudor and Mihnea Mircan. I am the first person to do a show there and I am really excited about it! All my pieces are coming together and this is a preview of "Errorism".

In the cultural press

Thanks to Cosmin Costinas, Vasile Ernu and Attila Tordai and their project my master plan for the National Redemption Cathedral made it to this intelectual's magazine: http://www.observatorcultural.ro/. Oh, dear... Soon I might think I'm an intelectual myself. :)

Dacia of the day

BAD Mothafucka!

This is Dacia Coupe or Dacia Sport to be more exact. This is one of the finest pieces I've seen. The signalling side mirrors are so overthe top that they don't actually look that bad. Please notice the Dacian Draco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacian_Draco) on the side.

I want one!

Exploring Bucharest

Intrarea Ursuletului 1 si 2...
Beautiful typography, a double layer stencil on two block entrances right by Kogalniceanu Sqare. The design of the light at no 1 is just great.

Exploring Bucharest

Sometimes I get the time to explore Bucharest. Today I've been around the station (Gara de Nord that is), on streets I've never been before. I was lucky to find some exciting places. Hotel Cerna is right by the station - please notice the 1 star detail. The bird cage is actually a surveillance camera and the CocaCola sign is genuine glocal culture. I love this town.
